Each May during the week of commencement exercises, the Union R-XI School Foundation awards tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to dozens of graduating seniors at scholarship night. The presentation was held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, and the total amount of awards was $44,950. Over the past thirty years, the Foundation has provided well over $1.1 million in scholarships to graduating seniors and grants to teachers and staff of all district schools to fund innovative classroom and building projects.
The students apply for the awards and are selected by a committee of Foundation board members. Students interested in applying for a Foundation scholarship should apply using the google form that can be accessed through the navigation menu above.
Also, a huge thank you to Lisa Kerr and Janet Goodman in the Counselor’s office for organizing and answering endless questions from the students, parents, and the Foundation to make scholarship night possible.
