Each May during the week of commencement exercises, the Union R-XI School Foundation awards tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships to dozens of graduating Wildcat seniors at a scholarship awards night. The students apply for the awards and are selected by a committee of Foundation directors and high school counselors. Jane Ridder, retired R-XI teacher and long-time Foundation board member, has led the process since the early 1990s, finalizing recipients, coordinating presenters, and helping college-bound teens learn the fine art of the thank you note.
Students interested in applying for a Foundation scholarship should use the Google Form that can be accessed on this website’s Documents page under the Resources menu above. And here is a direct link to the Scholarship Application for even quicker access.
